Open Call: Womens Leadership in STEM Entrepreneurship Grand Challenge in India 2026 Fully Funded, The Women’s Leadership in STEM Entrepreneurship program — jointly developed by BIRAC (a PSU under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India), Grand Challenges India, and WomenLift Health — is a part-time leadership initiative aimed at strengthening the leadership capacity of mid- to senior-level women working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across India.
This fully funded, 12-month program offers women entrepreneurs and innovators in STEM and public health an opportunity to reflect on their leadership style, build confidence, and enhance their influence. Participants gain access to a supportive and diverse community, practical tools and strategies, and guidance from mentors and coaches — all designed to help them navigate personal, organizational, and societal barriers. The structure recognizes the importance of balancing professional responsibilities with personal life.
The curriculum includes two in-person experiential residencies (Immersion and Lift-Off), along with virtual learning sessions, group mentoring, one-on-one coaching, and an independent STEM and Public Health Leadership Project. Throughout the journey, participants receive continual support from peers and experts.
On successful completion, Global Fellows join a lifelong network of leaders who collaborate, uplift one another, and champion women’s leadership at local, regional, and global levels.

Our work is grounded in a strong commitment to inclusion, reflected in our values, practices, and the way we continuously learn and evolve. We believe that leadership becomes truly transformative only when it amplifies diverse voices and represents women from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Therefore, we especially welcome applications from women belonging to minority groups, historically marginalized communities, and other underrepresented sections across India.
