The role will entail, but not be restricted to, the following responsibilities:
Overall responsibility is to contemplate more strategically and communicate more effectively to support and meet the organisational and fundraising goals.
Communications Strategy:
- Support in developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and initiatives.
- Develop a clearly outlined annual organisational and fundraising communications calendar and budget along with the reporting manager.
Marketing and Branding:
- Create compelling narratives and key messages that resonate with diverse audiences, including donors, partners, media, and the general public, while ensuring coherent and effective communication within and outside the organisation.
- Collaborate with different departments and teams to design and execute communication activities and produce high-quality collateral that highlights the impact of our programs and initiatives.
- Produce various communication products, such as websites, brochures, newsletters, reports, and presentations, ensuring consistent and impactful branding across all materials and platforms
Content Development:
- Drive the creation of high- quality engaging, informative, and impactful content for various channels and platforms, including blogs, articles, videos, websites, presentations, concept notes, reports, and brochures and infographics.
- Ensure all content aligns with the organisation’s mission and enhances its reputation and visibility.
- Develop innovative content ideas that effectively communicate the success and impact of our programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with different teams to gather stories, data, and visuals and create communications that showcase the organisation’s work.
- Develop infographics, videos, and photo stories to illustrate the organisation’s projects and achievements.
- Engage with external agencies/vendors as per brief to enhance content delivery, fostering better visibility and organisational branding.
- Develop content for organisation-led editorial campaigns on TV, print, and digital media.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in managing the organisation’s digital presence, including website management, social media strategy, and email marketing.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and execute website content development, style, and layout. Ensure the content on the website is always updated.
- Support in developing the organisation’s interactions with the target audience by implementing social media platforms’ content strategies.
- Create and send invites or emailers during any important social media engagement events
Public Relations:
- Work with the media team to build relations with media and explore opportunities to partner with relevant platforms, forums, media publications, and influencers to secure positive visibility for the organisation as well as the spokesperson.
- Explore speaking opportunities for the spokesperson in industry associations and public events.
Fundraising Support and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and execute communication strategies that support donor acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Support in engaging with donors, partners, and supporters through effective communication plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support.
- Create compelling donor communication materials, including impact stories, thank you letters, and campaign updates.
- Represent the organisation at external events, conferences, and meetings to advocate for child rights and promote our work.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and updates to stakeholders to keep them informed of the organisation’s progress and impact.
- Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and forums to engage with stakeholders and gather feedback.
Crisis Communication:
- Implement crisis communication plans to address any potential issues or challenges.
- Act as a point of contact during crises and ensure timely and accurate communication to stakeholders and the public.
- Monitor and manage online reputation and address any negative comments or misinformation.
Qualification and Skills (Apply for Communication Manager NGO Job Vacancy December 2024)
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication and marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Hindi or other regional languages is a plus.
- Strong digital marketing skills, including experience with social media management, content creation, and analytics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Flexible to work with different teams and on multiple priorities when required
- Passion for child rights and commitment to the mission of the organization.
