Position : Assistant Manager, MERA Operations

Level : Assistant Manager

Reporting to : Project Head: MERA

Reportees : None

Role Description: Support PH in designing systems and processes for MERA operations. Support the scale-up plan of MERA systems, processes, and automations. Support PH in the development of MERA AOP (annual operation plans). Prepare the BRS (business requisition systems) note for acquisition and retention of MERA systems and processes. Play a critical role in capacity building of project teams and other stakeholders on MERA systems and other thematic areas (knowledge session on M&E, predictive analytics, school statistics, and budget analysis). Represent MERA in various external meetings, workshops, and collaborative processes. Accountable for various internal and external coordination and collaboration required for successful execution of MERA operations.

KEF’s Vocational Education & Livelihood Project upskills unemployed youth from economically weaker sections of society and coaches them in domain know-how, the basics of IT and spoken English, life skills, and personality development. It ensures placements for all eligible participants so they can stride with confidence into any professional sphere.

KEF is looking for an Assistant Manager-MERA Operations with the team of MERA. The role holders are expected to play a key role in the design and execution of MERA systems and processes with all the projects. The development of an annual operation plan in accordance with the MERA thematic plans is central to this role. Supporting PH in the standardization of key terms and definitions being used, the development of standard checklists and flow diagrams, and building the business case for systems and processes is essential for this role holder to ensure the success of MERA operations.

MERA Systems and Processes—Design and execution :

  1. Prepare a MERA system and process note in detail. The note should include all the operational aspects for MERA operations.
  2. Support in orientation of project team about MERA processes. Consistency in update of process note.
  3. Establish a tracking mechanism for successful execution of MERA process operations. MERA AoP: Annual Operating Plan:
  4. Develop MERA AoP in coordination with team MERA. Align AoP with MERA thematic plan.
  5. Monthly update of AoP against the progress made and present to PH.
  6. Play a critical role in setting up the KMS (knowledge sessions) for project teams and within MERA.
  7. Research and Evaluation with the MERA PH: Research and Evaluation in field execution plan for various studies, research, and assessments.

BRS write-up and approval:

Prepare detailed BRS as per existing template and present to PH for process approval. The BRS development is essential for the set-up of all systems and processes, procurement of external services, software/subscriptions, etc.

Represent MERA:

  1. Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Participate in various stakeholder meetings, workshops, and field visits with external stakeholders and represent MERA.
  3. Managing MERA operations includes coordination with a larger team and people at different levels as per the specified needs.

Educational Qualification : Master’s degrees in management/operations/social science/social work/other relevant discipline.

Years of Experience :

1) 5+ years of working experience in setting up systems and processes, writing up process notes, and making operational plans.

2) Prior experience in successful execution of large-scale system and process operations.

Technical Skills :

1) Systems and process setup for complex projects and effective utilization.

2 )Operational planning and budgeting.

3) BRS development and execution.

4) Multi-level coordination with different stakeholders.

5) Basic proficiency in project design, monitoring, evaluation, reporting to donors, and hands-on with applied statistics.

Competencies :

1) Negotiation skills.

2) Ability to manage relationships in a mature way.

3) Ability to manage conflict situations in an amicable way.

4) Excellent verbal, written articulation and listening skills.
