The organization has the experience of working extensively on community based maternal, new born, child and adolescent health. It provides clinic based services along with community based health education activities, organize health camps, and integrate with Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Department of Health along with capacity building of frontline functionaries.

IRG works with government machinery reaching up to the population which are being left untouched by the state heads owing to various factors. There is effective and strategic engagement in advocacy and lobbying with government entities for sustainable and systematic solutions.

Position Summary

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing project-level accounts, financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor financial guidelines. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting audits, preparing financial reports, and coordinating closely with program teams to ensure sound financial management across iRG’s projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting, Bookkeeping & Project Finance

Maintain accurate books of account in Tally Prime as per Accounting Standards and NGO accounting principles applicable in India.

Record, reconcile, and classify all project-wise, donor-wise, and programmatic expenditures; ensure supporting documents as mandated for audits (e.g., vouchers, bills, MoUs, contracts).

Track utilization certificates (UCs), Statement of Expenditures (SoEs), project budgets, and actuals for all grants/CSR initiatives.

Prepare periodic fund utilization statements and projections for management and donors.

  1. Statutory, Legal & Donor Compliance

Ensure full compliance with statutory returns and filings: TDS, PF/EPF, ESI, PT, GST (if applicable), Income Tax, and FCRA (where relevant).

Maintain and update documentation for Section 12A, 80G, CSR (Schedule VII) activities, FCRA and any other necessary registrations.

Prepare for statutory, donor and internal audits; respond to audit queries and implement audit recommendations.

Support the development, updating, and implementation of finance SOPs/internal controls to prevent misappropriation and ensure transparency.

  1. FCRA and CSR Compliance

Meticulously manage accounts related to domestic and foreign funding (FCRA); ensure compliance with FCRA rules for receipts, disbursement, reporting and annual returns (Form FC-4).

Ensure that all CSR funds and activities are tracked and reported as per Companies Act, CSR Rules, and donor agreements; prepare annual reports and impact statements as required.

  1. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with program/field teams to collect verified financial supporting documents and facilitate timely fund requests and disbursements.

Provide regular finance updates and support to project managers for budgeting, proposals, and variance analysis.

Coordinate with banks, statutory authorities, vendors, auditors, and donors as necessary.

  1. Qualifications & Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting. Master’s/MBA in Finance or CA (Inter) preferred.

3–5 years relevant experience in accounts & finance, with minimum 1 years in a not-for-profit/NGO/CSR grant environment.

Proficient in Tally Prime and MS Excel; familiarity with accounting for restricted (project) and unrestricted (core/administrative) funds.

Thorough knowledge of Indian Trust/Societies Act, FCRA, Income Tax for NGOs, CSR (Schedule VII), and (if applicable) GST compliance.

Proven experience with audits (statutory, donor, FCRA), UCs/SoEs, and compliance documentation.

Strong organizational and analytical abilities, integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills in English & Hindi.

  1. Remuneration

Salary commensurate with qualification and experience.
