The project focuses on advancing Online and Blended Learning (OBL) capabilities across academic institutions. The initiative will also engage the Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) to develop and mentor a network of regional trainers capable of designing and implementing high-quality OBL courses in public health. The project promotes a policy-relevant and evidence based-driven approach to support ongoing reforms in public health education. This includes developing customized blended learning modules for targeted health professionals and thus contributing to broader health system strengthening efforts. The incumbent will support the design and development of high-quality online and blended learning experiences in public health education. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop online and blended courses in public health, applying instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and best practices.
  • Ensure that all courses align with PHFI’s quality vision and design standards.
  • Work in close consultation with faculty members and SMEs to translate academic content into engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
  • Support faculty in adapting their materials for online delivery.
  • Collaborate with the project team to repurpose existing content and co-develop multimedia learning materials such as video lectures, interactive exercises, and assessments.
  • Ensure that final modules include: A clear instructional design plan and course architecture; Consistent look and feel across modules; Intuitive navigation strategies; Interactive and visual elements including image maps, videos, flowcharts, decision trees, sketches, etc.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on the instructional design and delivery of training courses.
  • Monitor course effectiveness and suggest iterative improvements based on feedback and learning analytics.
  • Support the project team in implementing online and blended teaching strategies.
  • Assist in facilitating online learning activities when required.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, instructional tools, and best practices in online and blended learning, public health education, and higher education.
  • Actively seek and propose opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in course design and delivery.
  • Contribute to building institutional capacity (PHFI and non-PHFI institutions) by facilitating workshops and co-design sessions with faculty and staff.
  • Share knowledge and insights on instructional technologies and student-centered learning design.
  • Travel as and when required.

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree/post graduate diploma in instructional design, educational technology, communication, journalism or a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (writing, reading and speaking); additional proficiency in other Indian languages would be an added advantage.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Around 07 to 10 years of work experience in instructional design and with Learning Management System (LMS)

Desirable:

  • Qualified expert with a demonstrated track record in developing educational materials.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and best practices, as well as experience with learning management systems and educational technology tools.
  • Experience as a classroom instructor
  • Working experience in Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia and Lectorate for developing courses, Storyboarding
  • Knowledge of public health or related fields is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong skills in reshaping content and turning it into varied and engaging learning paths
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
