Job Overview:
- As a GIS Specialist, you will contribute to spatial planning, analysis, and decision-making in rural landscape restoration and resilience-building initiatives. Your responsibilities, while indicative and not exhaustive, include:
- Data Management: Collecting, organizing, and maintaining geographic data within databases.
- Climate vulnerability assessment tools and geospatial analysis programs like – Crop health monitoring, flood and drought monitoring and soil moisture analysis
- Spatial Analysis: Analysing spatial relationships, patterns, and trends using GIS software.
- Mapping & Visualization: Creating maps, charts, and other visualizations to represent spatial data.
- Database Development: Developing and maintaining structured databases for spatial data.
- Software and Tools: Utilizing GIS software (like ArcGIS, QGIS) and other tools for data analysis and mapping.
- Collaboration: Working with other professionals and stakeholders to incorporate and present information.
- Problem-Solving: Applying geospatial expertise to solve real-world problems.
