The following steps and services will be delivered by Project:

- Neighbourhood capacity building and development of community mental health care workers
- Promoting mental health literacy for the general population through conducting awareness generation drives
- Door-to-door survey by workers using standardised tools to identify and understand the needs of individuals and families (including caregivers) who are at-risk for mental illnesses and/or with mental illnesses.
- Community resource mapping by workers to identify available resources in the neighbourhood such as existing primary health care centres, other stakeholders like NGOs or community-based organisations already operational in the area working in mental healthcare, existing government schemes that maybe beneficial for service-users, existing mental health human resources within the community, to help curate packages of care keeping in mind the local contexts.
- Running neighbourhood outpatient clinics focusing on mental health care to offer clinical services which include consultations with the mental healthcare team (including psychiatrists and psychologists, and social workers).
- Case management services to deliver individualised care plans that address psychosocial needs including counseling, psychotherapy and social care etc.
- Home visits and home-based after care delivered by project team to review the service-user’s status, provide support through understanding their unique issues including stigma and/or discrimination related issues, guiding them on the importance of follow-through with their treatment plans, offering family counseling, vocational guidance etc.
- Project team facilitate linkages for livelihood generation, including options for service-users to be employed internally within the organisation, or a salaried position externally in the community, or facilitating social entrepreneurship. This includes linking with skill building activities and facilitating social cooperatives where end-to-end support will be given by The Banyan including training, funding, registration, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Workers will also focus on assistance with the acquisition of Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, Ration cards, Jandhan bank accounts, disability certificates, disability allowance, and applying for national and state schemes such as CM health insurance, NREGA scheme, pensions, scholarships etc.
