You will coordinate a transformative 3-5 yearlong program to institutionalize a bottom-up, community-led GBV prevention and response system under CORD’s comprehensive vison and program. Mission of this program is to bridge the gap between rural grassroots institutions and formal legal/protection systems, ensuring survivors of GBV (Gender Based Violence) in district Kangra have immediate access to recovery and long-term resilience and promotion of GBV.
Key Responsibilities for NGO Job in Kangra Himachal Pradesh for Community Development Trainer Apply By 10 March 2026
- Institutional Strengthening: Build the leadership capacities of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) Mahila Mandals, Yuvati Samuhs, Bal Vihars, Yuvak Groups, and Men to serve as nodal platforms for legal awareness and collective action.
- Hub-and-Spoke Management: Establish and oversee Education, Counselling, and Guidance (ECG) Centres, ensuring seamless crisis response, legal guidance, psychosocial and rehabilitation support for survivors.
- Governance & Advocacy: Train Elected Gram Panchayat leaders and CBOs members and the community by which include men, youth and boys to integrate GBV prevention into local governance and facilitate district and State-level Multi-stakeholder Advocacy Forums.
- Data & Tech Oversight: Manage the development of a disaggregated database and profiling dashboard to track GBV trends and project impact across 100 Gram Panchayats.
- Networking with Systemic Convergence: Act as the primary liaison with related stakeholders including Women and Child Department, Health, Protection Officers, the Police, and legal aid institutions to streamline formal response mechanisms.
- Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain an online and offline Knowledge Bank to capture and share best practices with practitioners and policy influencers.
- Training and Capacity Building: Design and deliver training programs for team members, community stakeholders, and partners to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Reporting and Team Leadership: Prepare accurate and timely reports while effectively leading, coordinating, and motivating team members with organisational leadership of CORD.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Master’s degree preferably in Social Work, Gender Studies, Rural Development, or Law.
- Experience: 5+ years in managing GBV or women’s empowerment projects, preferably in a rural Himalayan context.
- Leadership: Proven ability to engage with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), mobilize large-scale women-led CBOs, Men, Youth and Children.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA), women related Indian legislation, gender issues including gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and social inclusion.
- Language: Fluency in Hindi and English is mandatory; proficiency in Pahari/Punjabi is a significant advantage for community engagement.
Salary: Negotiable Rs. 50,000/- to 60,000/- per month
