How to Apply?
Global Impact Cash Grants are designed to strengthen the work of eligible nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations operating at national or international levels. We invite applications from organizations that align with our vision and demonstrate innovative solutions with the potential to create large-scale impact.
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before starting your application, it is recommended to assess whether your program aligns with Cisco’s mission, strategic priorities, and funding objectives. Only programs that closely match these criteria will be considered.
Applicants can introduce their ideas through one of two online pathways, depending on the nature of their proposal:
- For nonprofit (NPO/NGO) proposals in areas such as climate, education, crisis response, and economic empowerment:
Complete the Eligibility Quiz available on the Cisco Grants and Cash Donations portal. If your responses meet the criteria, you will automatically proceed to the next stage. - For for-profit climate resilience initiatives:
Submit a climate impact investing inquiry form and follow the separate investment process.
Step 2: Submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
Organizations that successfully pass the eligibility quiz can submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) through the same portal. This initial application requires detailed information about your organization, proposed project, target beneficiaries, and budget.
The LOI will be evaluated to determine whether your organization will be invited to submit a full proposal. It is advisable to review the foundation’s social investment focus areas and funding policies before completing this step.
Please note that submitting an LOI does not guarantee progression to the next stage. All applications are reviewed at the discretion of Cisco and its foundation, and the review process may take up to one business quarter (approximately three months).
Step 3: Full Proposal Submission (By Invitation Only)
If your LOI aligns with Cisco’s priorities, you will be invited to submit a comprehensive grant proposal. In some cases, additional information may be requested before extending the invitation.
Once the full proposal is submitted, applicants can expect a decision within one business quarter. However, receiving an invitation to submit a full proposal does not ensure that funding will be awarded.
