Overview of the The ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship Program 2026 United States of America USA

The ReNew Democracy Fellowship offers an immersive nine-month experience where fellows work closely with Members of Congress and congressional staff on legislative projects, stakeholder engagement, policy research, and day-to-day congressional operations. Through this hands-on role, fellows gain practical exposure to congressional procedures, the functioning of the U.S. House of Representatives, and the dynamics of policymaking.

During the fellowship, participants also develop expertise in important policy areas such as housing, workforce development, healthcare, and other public policy priorities. In addition to legislative experience, fellows benefit from professional and personal development opportunities, including mentorship, career guidance, leadership training, and the completion of a capstone project designed to strengthen their skills and impact.

 

What are the Benefits of The ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship Program 2026 United States of America USA?

Selected fellows will serve as W-2 employees of the ReNew Democracy Foundation and receive a monthly stipend of $5,500 to help cover living expenses such as housing, health insurance, and transportation while in Washington, DC.

In addition, the Foundation will provide a $1,000 relocation allowance to support the move to Washington, DC, and will also cover the cost of at least one trip to the fellow’s host congressional office in its home district.

 

What are the Eligibility Criteria for The ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship Program 2026 United States of America USA?

 

To be eligible for the ReNew Democracy Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without restrictions, as the fellowship does not provide visa sponsorship.
  • Complete an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or territory by December 31, 2026.
  • Be willing and able to relocate to the Washington, DC area by January 3, 2027, and remain there throughout the fellowship period.
  • Participate in the fellowship in person for its entire duration.
  • Show strong academic potential and capability.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in public policy and public service.
