2026 Grant Application Open for IGAD Regional Youth Coalition on Climate and Climate-Resilient Agri-food Systems, Across the IGAD region, young innovators and changemakers are playing an increasingly important role in promoting climate action and building climate-resilient agri-food systems through advocacy, sustainable farming practices, and community-driven solutions. Despite their growing contributions, many youth-led initiatives continue to face barriers such as limited access to climate information, funding opportunities, mentorship, institutional backing, and business development support.

To address these challenges and strengthen regional youth participation, the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), with support from the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), has launched the IGAD Regional Youth Coalition on Climate and Climate-Resilient Agri-food Systems.

The Coalition serves as a regional platform that connects young people and youth-led organisations working on climate solutions, particularly in agriculture and agri-food systems, while also welcoming initiatives from other climate-sensitive sectors. Through the programme, members gain access to expert mentorship, interactive capacity-building sessions, peer learning opportunities, collaborative networks, and platforms that amplify youth-led climate advocacy and innovation.
