Submission Open for Grant Opportunity 2026 for Agroecology Program (GAP) Challenge Fund Pan India, Across India’s growing agroecology landscape, many small enterprises and producer-led organizations are working to build sustainable farming systems that protect the environment while improving farmer livelihoods. To strengthen these efforts, ACCESS Development Services is managing an investment fund on behalf of International Fund for Agricultural Development under the Investments in Agroecology Value Chain Projects (IAVCP).

The initiative aims to promote agroecology-based value chains by identifying viable business opportunities connected to sustainable agriculture clusters and rural producer networks. Through the programme, Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and Producer Organization Enterprises (POEs) receive investment support, technical assistance, and ecosystem strengthening support to help them scale integrated agroecological production systems.

By supporting enterprises working in sustainable agriculture and value addition, the project seeks to improve business performance, strengthen agroecological outcomes, and create tangible economic benefits for small producers engaged in the value chain.

As part of this larger initiative, ACCESS has launched the GAP Challenge and is currently inviting Concept Notes from eligible enterprises seeking grant investments between Rs. 100 lakhs and Rs. 200 lakhs. The grants are intended to support the establishment or expansion of high-impact business projects within agroecology value chains.

The GAP Fund is designed to help agroecology-focused enterprises become an integral part of sustainable food systems. Through a competitive grant mechanism, the programme aims to empower innovative MSEs and POEs to scale their operations, address critical challenges within their value chains, and build viable business models that generate long-term sustainable livelihoods for smallholder producers.

• Producer Organization Enterprises (POEs) involved in agroecology, including:
  • Farmer Producer Organizations/Companies (FPOs/FPCs)
  • Producer Organizations/Companies (POs/PCs)
  • Producer Groups (PGs)
  • Producer Cooperatives
  • Federations of Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Other forms of producer collective enterprises
• Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) linked to agroecology value chains, including:
  • Registered for-profit enterprises
  • Startup organizations
  • Individual entrepreneurs working in agroecology sectors

Non-profit organizations and NGOs may support Producer Organizations or Enterprises in preparing their applications; however, they are not eligible to apply independently under the programme.

Project Location

The Grant for Agroecology Program (GAP) Challenge is open to eligible applicants across India, making it a pan-India opportunity for enterprises working to strengthen sustainable and climate-resilient agroecology value chains.
