Submit Application for Free Rivers Fund Emergency Grant 2026, Free Rivers Fund was created to support small grassroots initiatives, particularly those that are just getting started. The organisation felt that limiting applications to a single funding round each year could leave urgent projects without timely support. For example, an initiative that needed to begin work in August would otherwise have to wait for the next application cycle.
With significant support received in 2019, Free Rivers Fund was able to establish a dedicated fund for urgent projects. As a result, from 2020 onward, it introduced the Emergency Grant, which allows eligible initiatives to apply by email at any time of the year.
The grant is specifically designed for newly formed groups working to stop or prevent a dam project. Because of this focused purpose, the Emergency Grant has a narrower eligibility scope than the organisation’s regular grants, along with specific rules and requirements.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full details and submit their applications before the specified deadline to seize this grant opportunity.
