The Civil Society Fund (CSF) is intended for grassroots and civil society organizations based in Denmark. Applicants must work together with one or more local partners in developing countries, and the proposed intervention must be implemented through this partnership.
Requirements for Danish Applicants
To qualify, a Danish civil society organization must meet the following conditions:
- Be a private organization with its legal domicile and activities in Denmark.

Organizations That Are Not Eligible

- Organizations established through legislation, including folk high schools

The Civil Society Fund can finance interventions in both stable and fragile contexts. However, the fund is not intended for emergency relief or humanitarian emergency-response activities.
The available support is divided into several categories.
Project Support
Project funding is available through two levels:
- Small Project: Up to DKK 150,000
- Large Project: Up to DKK 700,000
This type of support can be used to strengthen organizations and partnerships and to implement focused interventions with local partners.
Programme Support
Larger and longer-term initiatives can apply through the programme support modality:

For example, instead of saying that you will “train community leaders,” explain what knowledge or skills they will gain, how they will use them, and what measurable change this is expected to produce.
6. Demonstrate Human Rights and Inclusion
Because the CSF focuses on participation and giving marginalized groups a voice, explain who is excluded and how your intervention will enable their meaningful participation.
Consider groups that may face barriers because of poverty, discrimination, gender, disability, location, social status, or other forms of exclusion.
