Eligible Projects

Planning Projects

Important: VHF will not fund the replacement of original heritage materials when repair and retention are viable options.

To qualify for the program:
- The site must be listed on the Vancouver Heritage Register, or the applicant must be planning to apply for the site to be added to the Register Here.
- Sites of Indigenous cultural significance are exempt from this requirement.
- Eligible applicants include individual private owners, strata corporations, registered non-profit societies, federally registered charities and First Nations.
- The proposed project must start after the application processing period and be completed within 12 months of acceptance.
- Projects generally must involve exterior elements or the site’s overall structural integrity. Interior work is eligible only when the interior is specifically designated on the Vancouver Heritage Register.
- Original heritage fabric should be repaired and retained rather than replaced whenever feasible.
