Job Responsibilities: NGO Job in Maharashtra for Optometrist Apply by 12 October 2026
- Conduct subjective refraction testing and assess visual acuity using standard optometric procedures.
- Record spherical, cylindrical, and axis measurements accurately, along with Ishihara colour vision test results.
- Document all examination findings on the prescribed registration forms and maintain accurate patient records.
- Identify refractive errors and other common visual abnormalities and provide appropriate guidance within the scope of practice.
- Guide participants regarding spectacle use, eye care, and the next steps based on screening findings.
- Refer participants with suspected ocular abnormalities or those requiring further evaluation to the designated ophthalmologist or eye care facility.
- Ensure proper use, cleaning, and safe handling of optometric and vision screening equipment.
- Maintain screening registers, referral records, and daily reports as per program requirements.
- Follow prescribed clinical protocols, infection prevention measures, and patient safety standards during screening activities.
- Coordinate with project staff and referral facilities to ensure smooth participant flow and continuity of care.
- Participate in school screenings, community outreach camps, mobile clinics, and other vision screening activities under the Foresight Program.
