Anhad India Invites Application for Pehal Fellowship, India is home to millions of young people with sharp intellect and big dreams — yet only a handful of platforms truly enable them to use their talent to solve real-world challenges. Rural healthcare issues are complex, deeply rooted, and profoundly human; they cannot be addressed by theory alone or by working from an office. To close this gap and empower youth to drive meaningful change, the system needs a fresh PEHAL.

Pehal is an 18-month fellowship launched by Anhad India in collaboration with IIM Udaipur’s Centre for Healthcare. It aims to nurture young leaders who can strengthen primary healthcare systems in rural communities and create lasting impact.

  • Implement innovations and effective operational models to enhance center performance, efficiency, and healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage P&L for 5–6 centers To ensure operational efficiency, cost optimization, and financial sustainability.
  • Operations Management Manage day-to-day center operations, covering staffing, outreach, and field coordination — to ensure seamless functioning.
  • Program Innovation & Problem-Solving Drive data-driven solutions to bridge delivery gaps and enhance healthcare quality.
  • Efficiency Improvement Implement improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, improve centre performance, and strengthen healthcare outcomes.

Eligibility

  • Commitment Required Willingness to live and work in rural communities for the duration of the fellowship.
  • Educational Background Graduate from a reputed institute in any field, with strong academic performance.
  • Language Proficiency Fluency in Hindi is mandatory for effective communication with local communities/stakeholders.
  • Perfect Fit Individuals aged 21–26 seeking practical experience in rural healthcare & community leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 21 to 26 years old with 0–3 years of work experience, coming from any academic stream, preferably from a reputed institution.
  • Currently working or have recently worked with a reputed organization and bring a disciplined, professional approach to work.
  • Looking to pursue higher education (India or abroad) or transition into the public health/development sector.
  • Comfortable communicating in Hindi and motivated to engage closely with field teams and local communities.
  • Ready to live full-time in the designated project zone for 18 months and prepared for regular field travel as part of your role.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and strong teamwork skills, especially in dynamic, on-ground environments.
