Focus Areas for Grant Applications invited by In a Good Place program to support mental health in rural communities 2026 in Australia
The program funds community-led initiatives that:
- Take a preventative and/or early-response approach to mental health challenges
- Work to reduce stigma and encourage open, honest conversations around mental health
- Promote help-seeking behaviors and improve access to appropriate support
- Address social isolation by strengthening participation, inclusion, and community connection
The program is delivered through two distinct funding streams:
- Community Wellbeing – supporting projects that enhance mental health and overall wellbeing in remote, rural, and regional communities
- Farmers and Farming Communities – funding initiatives specifically designed to improve the mental health and wellbeing of farmers and agriculture-dependent communities
Note: Farming communities are defined as remote, rural, and regional areas with a strong reliance on agriculture and allied industries.
Eligibility Criteria for Grant Applications invited by In a Good Place program to support mental health in rural communities 2026 in Australia
Every application needs to include an organisation that holds either an ABN or Incorporation Certificate. If your organisation doesn’t have that, FRRR could still fund the project (with your organisation as the delivery organisation) but you need another organisation’s support, which we refer to as the ‘legal organisation’.
Even though your organisation may complete the application (and will be doing the work), it’s the overarching organisation’s legal and financial information that needs to be provided. They also need to provide a letter from the legal entity, confirming they are willing to play this role, with a template available here for your convenience.
This situation often occurs often when the organisation delivering the activity or project is a branch of an overarching organisation – such as a local CWA or YMCA branch.
How to apply?
FRRR has moved to a new online granting system called Blackbaud Grants Portal. All applications must be submitted via this system.
Please contact FRRR if you have questions about any aspect of the Blackbaud Grants Portal online application system.
Round 11 of In a Good Place is now open and closes 5pm AEDT 19 February, 2026.
