Dhanak of Humanity is a not-for-profit organization led by survivors of natal family violence. Established by survivor couples as a support group in 2004, it became formally registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2012.
Position Summary

The Victim Support Officer will play a crucial role in handling the crisis intervention program of Dhanak. The Officer will play an important role in the lives of families and friends of the victim of honour killing.
Location: East Delhi
Reports to: Manager Operations
Responsibilities and Deliverables

- Identification of cases of honour-based killings.
- Visits and regular meetings with the family, friends, and the partner/spouse of the victim of honour-based killings.
- Connecting them with an advocate(s) for legal counseling and assistance.
- Associating them with experienced individuals for solidarity and guidance.
- Pairing them with a counselling psychologist to deal with their trauma and other mental health issues.
Other Responsibilities

- Organising regular meets and events of the National Forum for Victims & Survivors of Honour-Based Crimes.
- Documentation of cases of honour-based killings across pan India.
- Collection of relevant information from the concerned stakeholders.
- Facilitate study/research w.r.t, cases of honour-based killings/crimes.
- Writing representations to different stakeholders regarding appropriate action in specific cases.
- Visit different authorities/institutions for the relief & rehabilitation of the survivors.
- Liaison with organisations/individuals/institutions working on the issues of honor-based crimes.
- Collection, compilation, and representation of primary & secondary data received from different stakeholders dealing with the concerned issues for policy and systemic changes.
- Travel in Delhi/NCR and other states/cities for meetings & assistance to the related individuals.
Minimum Requirements:

- Post Graduate / Graduate in Social Work, Sociology, or any other field.
- Essential written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in analytical and computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and database management tools).

- Self-organized and manages time efficiently.
