Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in child protection or working with vulnerable/marginalized children, preferably within an NGO setting.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection laws and frameworks, including the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and national child welfare policies and mechanisms.

  • Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.

As a Child Protection Associate at CHETNA, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the rights and well-being of street-connected children. You will be responsible for handling individual protection cases, conducting field assessments, liaising with child protection systems, and ensuring a supportive environment for children through holistic interventions.

Key Responsibilities: (Child Protection Associate NGO Job in Delhi Apply by 28 May 2025)

 

  • Respond promptly and sensitively to child protection cases ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Conduct regular field visits to identify vulnerable children and assess their living conditions.
  • Work closely with families and caregivers to enable rehabilitation, reintegration, and sustained child care support.
  • Coordinate with Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), District Child Protection Units (DCPUs), police authorities, and other government stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive case files, including assessments, progress tracking, and follow-up documentation.
  • Promote child participation in decision-making processes that impact their lives.
  • Plan and implement awareness sessions, trainings, and workshops focused on child rights and protection.
  • Facilitate timely referral of children to essential services like education, healthcare, counseling, and legal aid.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to provide holistic support to beneficiaries.
  • Advocate for strengthening child protection policies and frameworks where needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Regularly visit slum communities to offer emotional support, counseling, and protection guidance to children and families.
  • Assist families in securing essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, and opening bank accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with government departments, NGOs, service providers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Initiate and drive collaborations to enhance the ecosystem supporting vulnerable children and their families.
