About (Application open for Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025)

The Compute for Climate Fellowship provides climate tech startups with the resources to build proof-of-concept (PoC) climate solutions using advanced cloud computing technologies. The selected fellows are granted funding via AWS credits, up to $200k per startup, and access to technical and scientific expertise from AWS and IRCAI. This fellowship focuses on creating impactful, scalable climate solutions that make use of advanced technologies, with the goal of addressing the most pressing environmental challenges.

Key Features and Benefits:

Grants in AWS Credits: Each startup receives up to $200,000 in AWS credits to cover cloud computing costs during the PoC development.
Three-Month PoC Build Period: The program provides personalized mentorship and technical support to help startups during the PoC development phase.
Access to Advanced Computing Services: Fellows can leverage cutting-edge technologies like quantum computing, high-performance computing (HPC), generative AI, and more.
Expert Guidance: The program offers mentorship from experts in computing, AI, sustainability, and ethics from both IRCAI and AWS.

Low-Carbon Transportation
Sustainable Agriculture and Food
Circular Economy and Industry
Sustainable Buildings
Greenhouse Gas Management
Carbon Removal
Environment and Climate Risk
Indigenous Solutions to the Climate Crisis (New)

The Fellowship is particularly interested in supporting tech-enabled climate solutions developed in partnership with Indigenous communities. Recognizing the critical role Indigenous knowledge plays in addressing the climate crisis, the Fellowship is encouraging proposals from Indigenous innovators and communities globally.

Who Should Apply? (Application open for Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025)

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

Private Companies: The company must be privately held and founded within the last 10 years.

Technical Capability: The team should be capable of building solutions with advanced cloud computing technologies.
