Sahjeevan has been working for over three decades to address the challenges faced by pastoral communities across India. Rooted in Kutch, our interventions have expanded to Saurashtra, Rajasthan, the Himalayas, and other regions. Our work focuses on:

@ Livelihood enhancement through the marketing of sheep wool and dairy products (buffalo, cow, camel, and goat)

@ Conservation of indigenous pastoral breeds

@ Restoration of grasslands and improved access to grazing lands

While our headquarters is in Bhuj (Gujarat), this position will be based at our New Delhi office and will involve close coordination with teams across locations.

The Lead – Finance will play a critical leadership role in managing and strengthening Sahjeevan’s financial systems and compliance mechanisms. The role involves overseeing all finance-related operations, ensuring legal and donor compliance, and providing strategic inputs to maintain financial discipline across the organization.

Lead and manage Sahjeevan’s finance unit
Build, support, and guide the finance team across all locations
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and internal monitoring systems
Ensure timely statutory compliances and renewals of all registration certificates
Maintain regular communication with program leads and organizational committees
Review and provide recommendations on MoUs, agreements, and finance-related documents
Develop and update systems and processes for financial governance
Support internal and statutory audit processes
Carry out any other finance-related duties assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications & Experience: (NGO Job Opportunity for Lead Finance in New Delhi Last Date 2 July 2025)

Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounts, or Finance OR Inter CA with substantial experience(12-15 years)
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the development sector (NGO/CSO/non-profit mandatory)
Strong knowledge of accounting software (especially Tally) and MS Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience in donor reporting and strategic budgeting will be an advantage
Willingness to travel regularly to Bhuj and other locations as needed
