Context & Project Description
- Generative AI holds immense potential to transform teaching and learning experiences. Globally, the last two years have seen the emergence of new education use cases and Edtech solutions being powered by this frontier technology. While these developments present exciting opportunities, these solutions need to be validated, piloted, and tested before they are deployed in real-world use cases.
- One of the promising use cases that has emerged is that of AI-powered personalised tutoring.
- Central Square Foundation, in collaboration with Khan Academy India, will implement a pilot of ‘Khanmigo’ in the affordable private school segment in India. ‘Khanmigo’, Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching and learning solution, provides personalised tutoring to students and a host of teaching and classroom management tools to teachers. The objective of this pilot is to develop insights on a suitable and stable model of engagement for students and teachers, and gain insights on product contextualisation needs for deployment of AI-powered solutions in low income contexts in India over the 2025-26 school year.

About the Role (NGO Job Opportunity for Project Associate in Pune and Mumbai Last Date 20 July 2025)

Central Square Foundation is looking for smart and driven Project Associates who will play a critical role on ground in driving adoption of its latest AI tool in the participating schools’ teachers and students. The person will be responsible for supporting design and own end-to-end execution of implementation in select schools under their purview, building & maintaining relationships with all stakeholders (students, teachers, school principals, and field officers) relevant to schools/districts under their purview, capturing data & insights from the field for improving implementation, supporting capacity building initiatives of teachers & students directly and with help from capacity development team, support M&E activities of monitoring team and other project requirements.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in understanding the implementation of an EdTech program and/or an AI tool adoption program and gaining an understanding of the role of AI in education.
In this role you will:
- Support the adoption of the Khan Academy’s AI tool, Khanmigo, in the pilot schools
- Conduct school visits to support teachers and students, problem solve, and understand the way Khanmigo is being used by teachers and students
- Help resolve any challenges being encountered, and any other support needed by them
- Monitor the program data throughout the implementation period to inform decisions
- Conduct training sessions, as needed, for the pilot school teachers
- Conduct training sessions, as needed, for students during school visit
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, such as manuals, logs, any issues and key decisions taken for improvements, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of documents and presentations for donor reporting as well as dissemination activities
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of programs and services
- Any other task as assigned related to this project

You are someone with:
- Someone with at least 2-3 years of work experience.
- Having been an educator or having worked with government schools in Maharashtra is an added advantage
- Fluent in English and Hindi (spoken)
- While fluency in Marathi is preferred, it is not a requirement
- A great communicator – you can address different audiences using audience-appropriate language to communicate clearly and efficiently in multiple formats, including email, written documents, digital presentations, and verbal conversations
- Someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, including a high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation, and a bias toward action
- Someone with an excellent ability to document information from multiple sources and present it in a consumable format for others in English
- Someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously
Compensation
Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend upon the candidate’s experience levels.
