JSI Foundation works closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Women and Child Development, as well as state counterparts, leading CSR companies, and Unicef to implement context specific and comprehensive public health programs in India.

JSI R&T India Foundation is in the process of partnering with the Anil Agarwal Foundation (Vedanta Limited) for providing implementation support to an anticipated project called ‘Project Balvardhan’, a holistic program under Vedanta’s Nand Ghar (NG) initiative: a network of modern, renovated Anganwadis that provide development opportunities through nutrition initiatives, digital early childhood education, healthcare services and women empowerment activities. The project will be implemented in the focus state of Rajasthan and seeks to strengthen Anganwadi services at the NGs. The project is conceived keeping in mind that the integrated service delivery model is optimum for holistic development of children using a systems approach. The project also seeks to align with the national and flagship programs of ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0’ and ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ in a concerted effort to address malnutrition of all kinds (0-6 years) and learning outcomes (3-6 years) among children.

Job Summary (State Manager NGO Job in Jaipur Apply by 15 May 2025)

In anticipation of Project Balvardhan, JSI R&T India Foundation seeks applications for the position of State Manager – Rajasthan, based at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Under the guidance of the Director JSI R&T India Foundation (Technical Lead), the State Manager – Rajasthan will work closely with Vedanta’s Nand Ghar national and state team, as well as officials in the Department of Women and Child Development, at the state and district level to ensure the timely implementation of the project activities across the state and in the intervention district of Dholpur, Rajasthan in line with the approved project work plan. The incumbent will lead the development of strategies for strengthening Take Home Ration and food fortification and actively engage with the project stakeholders and solicit their support in implementing identified project activities. TheState Manager will supervise and support the District Coordinator for timely accomplishment of the project deliverables.

  • Work closely with the Technical Lead and District Coordinator and lead the execution of the approved work plan.
  • Prepare presentations and brief one pager collaterals, prepare state reports and oversee district level reports on Project Balvardhan to introduce the project to officials at the state and district level.
  • Support the District Coordinator in effectively conducting the baseline, concurrent monitoring and endline assessment to keep track of the project progress and results/impact. This includes training on tools, data analysis and report preparation.
  • Develop mechanisms for establishing convergence between different line departments/stakeholders for effective execution of the project.
  • Provide guidance to the District Coordinator in planning and implementing the program activities as per the approved workplan in close coordination with the district officials and the Nand Ghar team.
  • Work closely with the District Coordinator in understanding the opportunities and the challenges in the distribution and consumption of the Take Home Ration (THR) provided under the ICDS. Prepare a brief report of the assessment for sharing with DWCD.
  • Develop strategies and action plan for strengthening Take Home Ration (distribution and consumption) in close consultation with the DWCD officials, Nand Ghar team and Technical Lead. Facilitate establishing partnerships with FSSAI-accredited NABL laboratories to conduct bi-annual quality testing of THR products at the state level.
  • Work closely with the district team and Nand Ghar team to provide evidence-based recommendations and advocate for the inclusion of fortified foods focusing on milk fortification, millet based nutrition diet in the government’s supplementary nutrition programs, which can be standardized and replicated across the state of Rajasthan.
  • Develop an IEC/BCC strategy in close coordination with the Technical Lead, Nand Ghar team and other stakeholders for promoting sustainable behaviour change amongst project beneficiaries in the intervention district.
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead and Nand Ghar team to organise state level consultation meeting with stakeholders for finalising the strategies.
  • Work closely with the District Coordinator to develop capacity building plans for training of Anganwadi Workers, Supervisors and Child Development Project Officers.
  • Create a structured MERL plan with clearly defined indicators for tracking nutritional outcomes and program implementation progress.
  • Work closely with the Project Associate, and undertake data management and plan mid-course corrective action.
  • Represent the project in state/district level review meetings as well as review meetings organised by the donor.
  • Establish a mechanism of regular meetings with field teams.
  • Document success stories and best practices in close coordination with the field team.
  • Be responsible for preparing progress reports of the project as per the guidelines of the donor.
  • Support donor in dissemination of project learnings
  • Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills (State Manager NGO Job in Jaipur Apply by 15 May 2025)

 

  • Post Graduate in Nutrition/Food Science/ Rural Management/ Social Science/Social Work/Public Health or any related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience of working at national or state in the development sector with leading civil society organizations, particularly on Nutrition and SBCC projects.
  • Strong understanding of the nutrition technical domain and schemes under the Department of Women and Child Development.
  • Good Communication skills in English, Hindi with good understanding of MS Office.
  • Strong skills in documentation and preparing power point presentations.
  • Well versed with developing project management plans and implementation strategies.
  • Understanding of the functioning of ICDS, Health, SHGs, Youth clubs, PRI and field level functionaries (ASHA, AWW, ANM).
  • Understanding of health and nutrition situation and challenges of the region.
  • Experience of working in teams and with diverse stakeholders.

Important:

  • The compensation range for this position is between INR 6 lacs to INR 6.6 lacs per annum and the project duration is of two years (extendable, based on project extension and project needs).
  • Selected candidate will be expected to be based at the state head quarter in Jaipur, Rajasthan at their own cost.
