Apply now for German Consulate General in Bengaluru small grant scheme for India 2026, Through its Small Grants Scheme, the German Consulate General in Bengaluru offers direct support and rapid assistance to some of the most disadvantaged sections of society, with the aim of improving their social conditions. Supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, these initiatives are designed for short planning cycles and swift, efficient implementation, ensuring both immediate impact and long-term sustainability. The projects are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and respond directly to the needs of the least privileged communities.
Please note that for 2026, the German Consulate General in Bengaluru will accept project proposals exclusively in the area of Gender Equality. Priority will be given to initiatives focusing on women’s rights, prevention of violence, protection of vulnerable women, and provision of legal support and advisory services. Projects related to public infrastructure—such as water supply, sanitation, energy, or school education—as well as those centered on income generation or nutrition, are no longer eligible for funding.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full details and submit their applications before the specified deadline to seize this grant opportunity.

CONDITIONS:

Requested funding should amount to approx. (but not exceeding) EUR 25 000 (depending on exchange rate around INR 25 lakh).
- The applicant organisation must have a valid license under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
- The project location has to be in Karnataka or Kerala.
- The project must be a distinct, full project in itself, not part of a bigger project.
- The project has not started yet.
- The project has to support least privileged members of society.
- The applicant organisation has to contribute an appropriate amount of own financial resources to the total project cost.
- The applicant organisation and benefitting local population have to contribute to the project through workforce, overhead expenses like administration, travelling, transportation etc.
- Coverage of potential follow-up costs after the completion of the project needs to be ensured.
- Project duration: approx. 6 months, project must be fully completed before the end of the calendar year (31.12.)
- No funding of the following costs: overhead costs (administration, permanent staff, office equipment like computers, printers, television, etc.), land purchase, unskilled labour, scholarships, lump sums
- No funding in the previous 2 years from the Consulate.
- No co-sponsoring by other organisations that receive contributions from the German Federal Budget (e. g. European Union, United Nations).

- Excerpt from Societies or Trusts or comparable registers
- Proof of valid FCRA license
- Statute of organisation
- Organisational chart (number and functions of staff, internal control systems)
- Proof of own funds (e. g. bank account statement)
- Photos of the current status
- Credentials from other funding partners, if any
