Position Purpose NGO Job in Uttar Pradesh for Field Coordinator Apply by 4 October 2026

The Field Coordinator will serve as the on-ground link between Prerna Ojas, its supported entrepreneurs and the communities they serve. This is a field-based role: The Coordinator is expected to spend the large majority of working time in villages, at Solar Shops and at customer homes — walking the market, sitting with entrepreneurs, verifying stock and cash, and following up leads and installations in person — with office/desk time limited to recording and reporting what was seen and done in the field. The role is responsible for driving Solar Shop enterprise development, DRE product placement, demand generation and sales, and field-level monitoring across the assigned block/district, working in close coordination with Surya Sakhis, Solar Shop Sanchalikas, community institutions and the Enterprise Manager.

Key Responsibilities NGO Job in Uttar Pradesh for Field Coordinator Apply by 4 October 2026

Solar Shop Enterprise Development

  • Support the identification and selection of Solar Shop Sanchalikas from SHG members, in coordination with BMMU and CLF, including household-level visits to verify SHG membership, community standing and willingness to invest time through direct conversation with the candidate and VO/CLF members.
  • Identify, assess and shortlist potential locations for new Solar Shops in the assigned area by personally walking each candidate site at different times of day to check footfall, market access, competing shops and proximity to target villages.
  • Support entrepreneurs through the loan and financing process for setting up Solar Shops, including document collection, personally accompanying the entrepreneur to the financing institution/SHG-linked credit source, and follow-up until disbursement.
  • Conduct product basket and demand analysis at the block/village level to guide the product mix, pricing and stocking decisions for each Solar Shop.
  • Support Solar Shop set-up activities, including shop branding, display, inventory planning and initial stock placement, and be present at shop opening to check that set-up matches the agreed standard.
  • Sit with each new Sanchalika through live shop hours during the first weeks of operation to observe real transactions and coach on product pitch, pricing and customer handling.
  • Provide ongoing training and handholding support to Solar Shop Sanchalikas and Surya Sakhis on enterprise operations, product knowledge, inventory management, basic bookkeeping and customer engagement, largely through on-the-spot demonstration and practice at the shop counter.
  • Use a standard shop-visit checklist (branding, display, stock levels, register upkeep, cleanliness, cash position) at every visit, physically verify stock and cash against the shop’s own registers, and record findings in the mobile MIS app before leaving the shop.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews of Solar Shops using visit findings and sales data, and identify entrepreneurs who need additional support, refresher training or corrective action.

DRE Placement and Clean Cooking Promotion

  • Coordinate the placement, installation and after-sales servicing of DRE (decentralised renewable energy) products with entrepreneurs, technicians and supply-chain/logistics teams, and be present at installation wherever feasible to verify correct fitting and demonstrate usage to the customer on the spot.
  • Track installation timelines and product quality at the point of deployment, flagging any defects, delays or servicing issues, and maintain a village-wise list of installations with dates for follow-up.
  • Revisit each installed DRE/clean-cooking unit at least once within an agreed post-installation window to check correct usage, address early problems, and confirm customer satisfaction.
  • Promote adoption of clean cooking solutions among target households and communities through door-to-door outreach, group meetings and live demonstrations, including cooking a meal on the product together with local women rather than only explaining its benefits verbally.
  • Support entrepreneurs and Surya Sakhis in explaining the health, cost and environmental benefits of clean cooking products to prospective customers, using real household examples and testimonials gathered from earlier adopters in the area.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for installation support, troubleshooting and after-sales service related to DRE and clean cooking products, accompanying the technician on the visit where a repeat or complex issue is involved.

Sales, Demand Generation and Customer Follow-up

  • Drive demand generation and sales of solar, DRE and other productive-use products across the assigned block/district in line with monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Plan and conduct village- and community-level awareness activities, demonstrations and campaigns, including personally running a stall or demonstration at haats, melas, SHG/CLF/VO meetings and other community platforms.
  • Work with Surya Sakhis and Solar Shop Sanchalikas to identify prospective customers, and maintain a running lead register (name, village, product interest, follow-up date) that is followed up in person or by phone within the agreed number of days.
  • Plan a weekly village-coverage/route plan in advance and share it with the Enterprise Manager, adjusting it for urgent entrepreneur or customer escalations.
  • Support entrepreneurs in showcasing products, explaining features, pricing and financing/instalment options, and closing sales, stepping in personally on higher-value or hesitant leads.
  • Track daily sales and demonstration numbers against monthly targets, and proactively flag shortfalls to the Enterprise Manager rather than waiting for a scheduled review.
  • Coordinate seasonal or campaign-based promotional activities as directed by the Enterprise Manager.
  • Gather and share customer feedback, product performance issues and local market/competitor insights with the Enterprise Manager and Marketing Manager, drawing on direct conversations during village visits.

Field Reporting, Stock and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date field records — shop-visit logs, the lead register, stock-movement records, and installation/service logs—and enter this data into the mobile MIS app on the same day as the field visit wherever possible.
  • Reconcile physical stock and cash at Solar Shops against MIS-reported figures during every visit and flag discrepancies immediately to the Enterprise Manager.
  • Prepare and share a weekly field-activity summary (villages covered, shops visited, leads generated, sales closed, installations completed, issues flagged) with the Enterprise Manager.
  • Document specific customer complaints, product defects and entrepreneur issues with photographs where relevant, and escalate promptly through the defined channel rather than only noting them for the next review.

Note: Performance will be reviewed monthly against field-verifiable indicators. Wherever possible, KPIs will be checked against physical field evidence (shop-visit logs, stock/cash counts, geo-tagged photographs) rather than self-reported activity alone.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in sales, field coordination, rural marketing or community outreach, including a demonstrated track record of daily field presence rather than a desk-based role.
  • Demonstrated experience in demand generation, direct sales or product placement, preferably for consumer, agri or renewable-energy products in rural markets.
  • Comfortable with extensive daily field travel and working directly with rural communities, entrepreneurs and community institutions.

Desirable

  • Good communication, interpersonal and basic record-keeping skills; ability to plan a field route, maintain field registers, and report on field activities.
  • Experience working with women entrepreneurs, SHGs, community institutions or rural retail/channel networks will be preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with smartphones and mobile-based MIS/data-collection tools; fluency in Hindi and the local dialect of the assigned area is required.

Travel Requirement

  • Own two-wheeler with a valid driving license, willing to travel within the assigned block/district, will be preferred.
  • Maintain a minimum number of field/village days per week as the core of the role, with limited time set aside for MIS entry and reporting.
  • Cover every Solar Shop in the assigned area at least once within an agreed visit cycle (e.g. weekly or fortnightly), and revisit every active DRE/clean-cooking installation within the defined post-installation window.
  • Travel daily within the assigned block/district using own two-wheeler as per the agreed route plan, and be available to divert to a specific shop or customer location in response to an urgent stock, cash or service issue.

What can you expect in PCI:

  • A warm, inclusive, and happy work environment.
  • Performance driven reward mechanism.
  • The best of the class benefits from competitive remunerations.
  • Health Insurance coverage for self, spouse & Children.
  • Group Terms Life Insurance and Group Accident Insurance for Self.
  • All other statutory benefits.
  • Regular Recognition of performance and PCI Value display in work
  • An empowering organization structure which values individual’s skills, competencies and potential.
  • Opportunities to operate in a cross functional role.
