Role Overview (Project Director NGO Job in Kolkata West Bengal Last Date 2 July 2025)
The Project Director will have to manage a team and be responsible for building community rapport in villages to enable them to practice ecological farming and adopt local livelihoods. This will primarily require abilities to strategize, plan and manage rural initiatives, and necessitate skills in data, knowledge and budget management besides human relationship development.
The role includes:
- Understanding of, and belief in, ecological farming ideologies and practices
- Developing local ecological livelihoods, livelihood collectives and market channels
- Engaging with local government as well as stakeholders
Key Responsibilities (Project Director NGO Job in Kolkata West Bengal Last Date 2 July 2025)
- Enable development of village community rapport, understanding and practices
- Facilitate local partnering CSOs in driving the community dialogues and initiatives
- Develop local leadership among community, especially youth and women, to sustain interventions
- Build project team capacity in operations planning and monitoring
- Support data acquisition, management and analysis
- Develop video case studies for advocacy and promotion
Eligibility Criteria (Project Director NGO Job in Kolkata West Bengal Last Date 2 July 2025)
- Minimum 7 years’ senior-level experience in rural development, especially in on-farm, off-farm and non-farm livelihood management. Experience with ecological farming will be an added advantage.
- Preferably a postgraduate degree in relevant subjects
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Good verbal, written and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel to across locations as required.
- Language proficiency: Bengali, English and ideally Odiya/Santhali
